Rochester - May 26, 2020 at age 67. Magdalyn was predeceased by her parents, John and Sophie Cyganovich and brother, Jerome. She is survived by sisters, Christine Cawley (Bill Casale) and Janette Brush (Michael); her brother, Lawrence Cyganovich (Diana) and many special and supportive friends.

Maggie graduated from SUNY at Albany, and the Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia. She began her paralegal career in February 1976 and finished it at Boylan, Code, LLP in 2019.

Maggie was an early and very active member of the Paralegal Association of Rochester. She served in several officer positions. While serving as president, she worked to have Rochester become a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Association (NFPA). In 1989, when serving as Vice President of the Administration of the NFPA, she helped them coordinate with their first management company. She was elected Region IV Director of NFPA at which time she worked to help the Central Connecticut Association, the Southern Tier Association and the Central Pennsylvania Association to become NFPA members. She also worked on the committee to develop the Paralegal Advanced Competency exam. (PACE). She would become the first PACE registered paralegal in Rochester.

Maggie was an adjunct professor for Monroe Community College and Genesee Community College. She helped develop the paralegal studies certificate program at Monroe Community College. Maggie was member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA and served as president of the Monroe Family Branch. She served on the NYS Bar Association Law Office Economics and Management Committee.

Maggie was honored to receive the Nathaniel Award in 1999, the only paralegal to receive this award. She also was honored to receive the Daily Record Excellence in Law Award in 2018. Maggie still found time to be a dedicated mentor to students at the Rochester City School #29 for 17 years. Maggie loved her family, friends, her career, a good joke and a good manhattan.
